BlackRock Expands Bitcoin Fund Offerings
According to The Block, investment manager BlackRock has filed for a new bitcoin ETF designed to provide both downside protection and upside exposure linked to its existing IBIT product. This regulatory filing marks the firm's third fund tied directly to the leading cryptocurrency.
The latest move comes as institutional interest in cryptocurrency investment vehicles continues to evolve. While traditional financial products expand, the broader digital asset market experiences varied momentum, with spot products remaining a primary channel for institutional and retail participants entering the space.
Broader Market and Custody Developments
U.S. investors recently saw outflows from digital asset investment products, with market participants redeeming millions in shares from vehicles managed by major issuers such as BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale, according to data from Farside Investors cited by Bitcoin Magazine.
Concurrently, infrastructure supporting institutional holdings continues to mature. AnchorWatch launched its Nevada state-chartered trust company to provide qualified custody services, introducing a fee structure capped at $10,000 a month to address rising demand from corporate balance sheets holding bitcoin.
