Daily Outflows Erase Weekly Gains for Spot Bitcoin ETFs

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $643 million in net outflows on Friday, October 30, according to data from Farside Investors. This sharp reversal wiped out four consecutive sessions of positive inflows and pushed the October 26–30 week into a net withdrawal.

Earlier in the week, these exchange-traded products had attracted a combined $440.8 million in net inflows from Monday through Thursday. However, Friday's heavy redemptions left the completed week with $202.4 million in net outflows, reversing what initially appeared to be a recovery in the ETF channel.

Broad Withdrawals Impact Major Funds

The withdrawals extended across five of the 12 funds tracked in Farside's table, while the remaining seven reported zero net flows. None of the funds recorded an inflow to offset the redemptions on Friday.

Among the participants, IBIT and FBTC were identified as the two largest contributors to the day's negative total. These financial products allow investors to gain Bitcoin exposure through brokerage accounts without directly holding or storing the underlying cryptocurrency.

Broader Market and Regulatory Context

The renewed withdrawals follow an earlier market pullback recorded on October 22. Exchange-traded products continue to track a popular route for institutional and retail market participants seeking digital asset exposure via traditional brokerage accounts.

The regulatory framework for these instruments was previously expanded when the SEC permitted in-kind creations and redemptions for Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded products in July 2025. This mechanism enables authorized participants to exchange assets directly rather than depending exclusively on cash transactions.
