Recent Outflows Affect Bitcoin ETFs

United States spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a third straight day of negative flows, according to data reported by CoinBriefing. Investors withdrew approximately $1.16 billion from the products between October 30 and November 3, 2026. The final session of this stretch ended with a net outflow of $115.6 million.

The three day withdrawal period followed a broader risk off sentiment across financial markets. According to reports, a major security incident at a digital asset exchange combined with macroeconomic uncertainty contributed to the capital departure. Despite the sustained redemptions, Bitcoin continued trading within a range of $76,600 to $78,000 during the period.

BlackRock Leads Market Withdrawals

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust accounted for the majority of the recent redemptions. The fund shed $95 million on November 3 alone. The preceding day brought even larger withdrawals for the product, with investors pulling $405.3 million on November 2.

The magnitude of the redemptions from BlackRock's fund outweighed the combined totals of other market participants on certain days. Market observers noted that aggregate flow numbers depend heavily on activity within a single fund, which can sometimes create a perception of weakness across the entire sector.

Inflows Cushion Smaller Issuers

While several major products recorded capital exits, not every fund experienced negative flows during the recent stretch. Bitwise registered inflows of $21.9 million into its product. Fidelity added $6.8 million to its competing fund during the same timeframe.

These positive contributions provided a partial cushion against the broader withdrawals led by larger issuers. The activity from smaller participants demonstrated that institutional demand remained active across select alternative products while market leaders faced redemption pressure.

Long Term Context and Assets

The recent $1.16 billion drawdown represents a small fraction of the broader capital history for these financial products. Since the initial launch of US spot Bitcoin exchange traded funds in January 2024, cumulative net inflows have reached approximately $56.5 billion.

Total assets managed across all US spot Bitcoin funds currently sit near $99 billion. Against that asset base, the three day withdrawal period accounts for roughly 2% of all net capital that has ever entered the category since inception.

According to CoinBriefing, the three-day withdrawal period followed a broader risk-off sentiment across financial markets. A recent major security incident at a digital asset exchange combined with macroeconomic uncertainty contributed to the capital departure.

According to CoinBriefing, market commentary around the selling has framed it as a short-term reaction to temporary conditions. Analysts viewed these flows as not necessarily signaling a fundamental retreat in institutional demand for Bitcoin.
