Standard Asset Company Debuts in Abu Dhabi
Standard Asset Company has officially launched in Abu Dhabi with a strategy aimed at combining real estate income with digital asset accumulation, according to recent reports. The proprietary investor formally opened its headquarters in the Abu Dhabi Global Market on October 27, 2026. The firm is targeting a total of $1.5 billion over a ten-year period to fund its operations.
The newly formed entity operates under the registered name Standard Proprietary Company Ltd. The launch serves as the public debut for the firm, which was founded by Sakhib Waseem, Adam Ali, and Mason Borda. Leadership backgrounds include digital asset offerings and transaction advisory experience.
Advisers and shareholders listed by the firm include Brett Tejpaul and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum. The company positions its launch as a bridge between the real estate sector in the United Arab Emirates and institutional digital asset management.
Real Estate Revenue Funds Bitcoin Reserves
The core mechanism relies on acquiring income-producing real estate assets, specifically hospitality properties and branded residences. These assets are intended to generate operational cash flow rather than depend entirely on capital appreciation. The company describes its operational model through the generate, retain, and redeploy framework.
Cash generated from the property portfolio will be retained and channeled into building a long-term Bitcoin reserve. The cryptocurrency holdings will be established in phases over the duration of the program. Management intends to review the capital allocation strategy at the end of every quarter.
A notable detail centers on the exact division of funds between property acquisitions and digital assets, which has not yet been disclosed publicly. Observers note that quarterly reviews allow the firm to adjust allocations based on changing market conditions.
Coinbase Asset Management Appointed Custodian
Coinbase Asset Management has been designated as the exclusive manager for the planned Bitcoin reserves. Engaging an established institutional custodian provides operational oversight for the newly created entity. The arrangement includes managed yield strategies designed to support the reserve.
While generating yield on digital asset holdings can increase returns, it also introduces counterparty and strategy considerations compared to basic cold storage. Standard Asset Company has not yet released specific details regarding which yield strategies will be implemented under the management of Coinbase.
Regulatory filings show that the firm is registered within the Abu Dhabi Global Market but does not hold a license as a financial services provider. This status aligns with its proprietary investment structure, meaning the enterprise invests its own capital rather than managing funds for outside clients.
