World ID Expands to Zoom and Enterprises
The identity project behind Worldcoin, operated by Tools for Humanity, is bringing its iris-scanning technology into conference rooms and corporate networks. According to Cryptobriefing, the company announced on October 16, 2026, that World ID for Zoom is now generally available in the Zoom App Marketplace. Simultaneously, the firm rolled out a dedicated set of verification tools specifically designed for banks and other regulated industries.
The primary goal of both offerings is to confirm that participants on video calls are genuine human beings and verify their specific identities. The Zoom integration finished a beta testing period that originally began in April 2026 through the Zoom ISV Exchange Program. Following this rollout, any Zoom user can add the application directly from the marketplace.
How the Verification Process Works
The verification tool performs real-time Proof of Human checks during live meetings. The system executes a three-way cryptographic match comparing three distinct images. The first image is a reference scan captured when the user registered their iris at one of World's Orb devices. The second image is a selfie taken on the user's personal device, while the third is the live video frame streaming into the active Zoom call.
Participants whose images successfully align receive a Verified Human badge within the meeting interface. Because the system relies on biometric data captured by custom Orb hardware, the verification features are only available to individuals who have previously completed an iris scan.
Targeting Regulated Industries and Financial Institutions
Alongside the Zoom application, World introduced a broader enterprise suite marketed as full-stack Proof of Human infrastructure. Early design partners for this corporate package include Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, and VanEck Funds. World clarified that the suite is not intended to replace traditional Know Your Customer checks, but rather to function alongside existing compliance protocols as an added privacy-preserving layer.
The targeted use cases focus heavily on high-stakes transactions where impersonation poses significant financial risks. Examples highlighted by the company include executive approvals and wire transfers. The commercial push follows the release of World ID 4.0, an underlying protocol upgrade that places increased emphasis on enterprise security requirements.
