Tesla and SpaceX Bitcoin Holdings Could Total $2.5 Billion Under Proposed Company Merger
A potential merger between Elon Musk's companies could consolidate Tesla and SpaceX Bitcoin holdings into a combined treasury worth $2.5 billion.

Consolidation of Corporate Treasury Reserves
A proposed merger idea involving Elon Musk's companies could unite Tesla and SpaceX Bitcoin holdings into a single combined balance without requiring the acquisition of additional digital assets. If finalized, the transaction would consolidate 30,221 BTC across the two entities into a joint treasury valued at approximately $2.5 billion.
Market analysts note that combining the existing balances of both companies does not represent a new capital inflow into the cryptocurrency market. Simply combining the balance sheets merges existing corporate reserves rather than creating net buying pressure on spot order books.
Broader Market Dynamics and Corporate Accumulation Trends
The potential balance sheet consolidation comes as corporate cryptocurrency accumulation exhibits signs of slowing down globally. According to research from Glassnode, corporate Bitcoin treasuries maintain an estimated average cost basis of $80,200 per coin. However, monthly corporate purchases have remained below one-tenth of their peak from November 2024 since June.
At the same time, broader crypto market conditions remain under pressure from external macroeconomic factors and volatile institutional ETF flows. United States spot Bitcoin ETFs recently experienced $635 million in net daily outflows as prices tested the funds' estimated average acquisition cost of $81,500, further underlining cautious corporate and institutional sentiment.
