Website Security Incident Affects Keystone Hardware Wallet Users

Keystone Hardware Wallet recently confirmed that an unauthorized third party gained access to its official website, compromising specific customer details. According to Crypto Briefing, the security incident occurred on October 20 and resulted in the exposure of names, contact details, shipping addresses, and order histories.

The company verified the breach on October 23 after reviewing API activity alongside Shopify. Affected individuals are currently being notified via email as part of the brand's response to the unauthorized access.

Funds and Private Keys Remain Safe

Despite the exposure of shipping information, Keystone assured users that critical security assets were untouched. Payment card and bank details, wallet passwords, recovery phrases, and private keys were not compromised during the incident.

The Hong Kong-based brand is known for offering fully air-gapped, QR-code-based transaction signing designed to keep private keys offline. It supports multiple blockchain networks through integrations with various software wallets.

Warnings Issued Regarding Potential Phishing Scams

Following the disclosure, Keystone warned customers to remain vigilant against potential scams. Malicious actors could exploit the incident by posing as company representatives offering refunds, replacement devices, or shipping assistance.

The firm urged users to avoid unexpected links and stressed that they should never disclose recovery phrases or enter them into unauthorized devices. Keystone stated that a thorough investigation is currently underway and a detailed report will be released soon.
