Expanding institutional trading with perpetual swaps

Ripple Prime has launched a new offering allowing eligible institutional clients to trade perpetual swaps referencing more than 100 traditional markets. According to NewsBTC, the service brings round-the-clock access to real-world asset swaps, marking a notable expansion in institutional trading capabilities.

The introduction of these perpetual swaps coincides with broader developments across the digital asset sector, where major financial firms continue to integrate blockchain rails and stablecoin technology into their operations.

Regulatory approval and stablecoin adoption

In addition to the trading rollout, Cointelegraph reported that Ripple has won final United States approval for a national trust bank. This regulatory milestone clears the way for the company to manage reserves backing its RLUSD stablecoin and provide digital asset custody services.

Further supporting the utility of the stablecoin, DriveWealth plans to integrate Ripple's stablecoin, payments, and custody technology. NewsBTC noted that this integration will initially focus on addressing the cross-border funding problem behind stock trading, starting with European settlement.

Evolving institutional custody demands

A BCG report commissioned by Ripple sheds light on what institutional buyers are looking for when it comes to digital asset storage. According to the study, institutions are increasingly prioritizing governance, interoperability, and operational integration alongside basic asset security.

As traditional financial entities deepen their engagement with digital assets, infrastructure providers continue to adapt their offerings to meet these multifaceted requirements.
