Polygon Expands Open Money Stack to TRON Network, Accessing $94 Billion USDT Liquidity Pool
Polygon Labs has integrated TRON into its Open Money Stack infrastructure, allowing fintech firms to link TRC-20 USDT with U.S. banking rails and EVM chains.

Single Infrastructure Layer for Cross-Chain Payments
Polygon Labs announced on October 8, 2026, that its Polygon Open Money Stack now supports the TRON network. The expansion provides fintechs, remittance platforms, and payment providers with an integrated infrastructure layer to connect traditional bank funds with the world's largest market for TRC-20 USDT.
Through a single integration, businesses can connect U.S. dollar on-ramps to virtual accounts holding real balances, route transactions across supported blockchains, and execute final payouts. Previously, companies serving the TRON stablecoin market were required to individually arrange licensing, sponsor banking partners, enterprise wallet vendors, and cross-chain routing systems before executing transfers between bank accounts and public blockchains.
Linking TRON Liquidity to Regulated U.S. Banking Rails
TRON currently hosts more than $94 billion in circulating USDT and has recorded over $30 trillion in total transfer volume, according to Polygon Labs and TRON DAO. The network serves as a primary settlement layer for retail transactions, cross-border remittances, and personal savings in various international markets.
The integration expands three specific components of the Polygon Open Money Stack to the TRON network. Polygon Ramps provides access to fiat money movement under money-transmitter compliance infrastructure across 48 U.S. states. Programmable accounts allow firms to create and operate TRON wallets alongside EVM networks without maintaining distinct wallet implementations. Additionally, cross-chain movement tools enable direct USDT transfers between TRON and EVM-compatible environments like Polygon Chain within a unified transaction process.
Polygon Labs assembled this unified stack following its pending acquisition of Coinme and its acquisition of Sequence. As of September 21, Polygon's payments infrastructure had processed over $3 trillion in cumulative payment volume.
Executive Responses and Network Usage
Marc Boiron, Chief Executive Officer of Polygon Labs, stated that adding TRON connects one of the crypto market's deepest USDT liquidity pools to U.S. banking rails with embedded compliance and orchestration. TRON Founder Justin Sun highlighted that connecting TRON's ecosystem with the Open Money Stack facilitates payment products that bridge onchain liquidity directly into established financial systems.
According to data from TRONSCAN cited by TRON DAO, the TRON blockchain has recorded over 407 million total user accounts, more than 15 billion overall transactions, and over $28 billion in total value locked as of October 2026. Polygon Labs stated that this rollout represents the initial phase of TRON support, with further assets and capabilities scheduled for future release.
