Bitcoin Price Holds Steady After Fed Decision

The bitcoin price maintained stability near the $81,000 threshold following the Federal Reserve's announcement to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged. According to Bitcoin Magazine, the central bank held the federal funds target range at 3.75% to 4% through a 10-2 vote.

Market reaction to the announcement was initially volatile. The asset briefly spiked to approximately $81,700 before declining below $80,500 and subsequently recovering toward $81,000.

Rare Split Vote Highlights Inflation Concerns

The Federal Reserve's decision featured a notable split, marking the first time since 1992 that a Fed governor and a regional bank president dissented together on the same side. Governor Lisa Cook and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack both advocated for a quarter-point increase.

During a press conference following the vote, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh stated that politics played no role in the outcome ahead of the midterm elections. Warsh also indicated a preference against forward guidance absent a crisis, leaving investors to interpret incoming economic data independently.

Institutional Flows and Market Outlook

Institutional activity surrounding spot Bitcoin ETFs showed net inflows of $110 million on October 26 and $176 million on October 27. Observers noted a tension in the market between institutional dip-buying and large holders selling into strength.

With inflation running hot, Fed funds futures and the central bank's dot plot point toward a potential rate increase by December. Traders continue to monitor the $80,000 level as a key support floor.
